New Partner Aneil Balgobin joins as Head of Employment

Anthony Gold is delighted to announce that new Partner, Aneil Balgobin, has joined the firm in a new role as Head of Employment to grow a specialist Employment department at the firm. He joined on 21 September and will be based out of the firm’s London Bridge office.
Balgobin has almost 20 years’ experience advising businesses, senior executives and private individuals on their employment rights and obligations. He joins from Simpson Millar where he was National Head of Employment Law and established an enviable track record of successfully resolving employment disputes for both employers and employees, as well as advising businesses on their HR strategies and policies. He has a particular expertise in advising employers and senior employees on restrictive covenants and their enforceability.
The move sees Anthony Gold building on its current employment offering to businesses and private individuals. The firm already enjoys a high market profile as litigators on complex discrimination claims, and in particular stress at work cases. Balgobin will build on this, and the firm’s existing employer and employee client base, to build a substantive Employment team in its own right.
Commenting on his appointment, Balgobin said: “I am delighted to be joining such an ambitious and progressive firm as Anthony Gold at a time when I am confident there will be many opportunities to assist both employers and employees in the current climate.”
Managing Partner, David Marshall, said: “This is a very exciting development and demonstrates our commitment to look out for opportunities to grow the business, notwithstanding the pandemic. Aneil brings a wealth of experience to the firm and will further strengthen our leading reputation.”
