Rehabilitation after serious injury

Rehabilitation after serious injury

At Anthony Gold, we understand that life after serious injury is rarely straightforward. Beyond the pain and uncertainty, many people face delays in care, a lack of coordinated support, and the pressure of navigating complex systems, often while trying to manage legal claims. That is why at Anthony Gold, our service goes beyond just legal advice.

We help our clients rebuild their lives after injury. Our specialists are here to support you with not just securing compensation but also to provide support you on your rehabilitation journey, aiming where possible to restore independence, improve wellbeing, and deliver a truly person-centred support when you need it most.

We also appreciate that our clients’ worries go beyond just their recovery. There are often financial worries for both clients and families. Our specialist teams offer support from day one, not just in relation to securing compensation and rehabilitation, but with wider concerns which can arise. We are able offer specialist benefits advice, and where needed Anthony Gold’s specialist employment, housing and Court of Protection teams will offer help and support to address needs and concerns.

Helping you rebuild your life after serious injury – early rehabilitation matters

At Anthony Gold, we understand that serious injuries disrupt every part of your life. From mobility and work to family responsibilities and emotional wellbeing. We understand that the impact can be overwhelming. We believe the journey to recovery should never wait.

We have a strong commitment to rehabilitation, with a focus, where it is possible on accessing early private rehabilitation, care, and support to maximise recovery as quickly as possible.

We know that early access to appropriate rehabilitation and support is far more likely to lead to better longer-term outcomes, particularly for complex injuries.

Support starts immediately and at Anthony Gold we are committed to helping clients as early as possible to regain control, confidence, and quality of life. The sooner an individual can instruct one of our specialist team, the sooner we can commence work accessing the right level of support and rehabilitation, with a recognition that no individual is the same.

Our specialist lawyers will work closely with third party insurers to access the right level of support for you. We have strong relationships with case management companies who are themselves specialists in supporting clients with life changing injuries.

A case manager is an independent healthcare professional who works with you throughout your claim. We aim to appoint a case manager from the outset who will support you on your rehabilitation journey. They will undertake an immediate needs assessment which enables a bespoke rehabilitation and support programme to be developed for you. Our specialist team will then work with the private insurers to secure the necessary funding for your Rehabilitation and support plan. Once funding is in place, your case manager will support and coordinate your care and rehabilitation programme with you.

A bespoke plan that works for you

We recognise that no two injuries, and no two recoveries, are the same. That is why we work with third party insurers and case managers to look at the full picture: your health, your home, your family, and your future and what you want to achieve.

Your personalised rehabilitation plan may include (amongst others):

  • Physical rehabilitation (e.g. physiotherapy, occupational therapy)
  • Emotional and psychological support
  • Pain, fatigue, or neurological symptom management
  • Private ongoing medical and therapeutic treatment and support
  • Vocational and/or educational rehabilitation
  • Provision of appropriate aids and equipment to support with your rehabilitation journey
  • Integrated planning with NHS or private clinical teams
  • Family and Carer Involvement
  • Regular Review and Adjustment

Our goal is to give you every opportunity to maximise your recovery and rebuild your life after serious injury.

As well as access to our specialist injury and medical claims lawyers, our clients are supported from day one by our dedicated in-house Rehabilitation and Support Co-ordinator, who provides expertise and compassion in supporting you in the very early stages following your injury whilst our specialist team of lawyers work to secure as quickly as possible funding for private, bespoke rehabilitation, centred on your needs.

Where a full recovery is not possible, we work with our clients in supporting them to develop their own independence. Rehabilitation differs for every client, and our specialist services extend to ensuring not just the right treatment, but that our clients are able to access appropriate housing, ongoing care and support where it is needed, as well as the right aids and equipment.

Amputation compensation claims: FAQs

How does rehabilitation relate to my personal injury claim?

Rehabilitation is at the centre of your claim. The earlier you seek legal advice, the earlier we can look to start you on your recovery journey and the better the outcome for you, both medically and legally.

What types of injuries or conditions can your rehabilitation service help with?

We support people recovering from serious injuries such as brain or spinal injuries, amputations, complex fractures, and psychological trauma. Whether your injury is from an accident or medical negligence, your rehabilitation is bespoke to suit your specific needs.

How quickly can rehabilitation start?

We aim to access rehabilitation as quickly as possible and whilst our specialist lawyers work with insurers from the outset to secure funding for private rehabilitation, you will have access to our in-house Rehabilitation and Support Co-ordinator.

Will I have to pay for rehabilitation services?

No. We aim to secure early funding from the insurers to support you with private rehabilitation. In many cases, this can cover the cost of treatment while your claim is ongoing.

Can I still access rehabilitation if I am already receiving NHS care?

Yes. Our service is designed to complement, not replace, NHS care. We can help fill in gaps or coordinate additional private support if NHS resources are limited.
