About Tom Jervis

Tom Jervis is a Partner specialising in complex personal injury, product liability and clinical negligence litigation. He has devoted his career to representing seriously injured claimants and bereaved families in cases involving catastrophic injuries, fatalities and matters of significant public importance. 

Tom is widely recognised for handling high-value, high-profile litigation against multinational corporations, public authorities and insurers. His practice spans a broad range of disputes including product liability, clinical negligence, road traffic accidents, employer’s and public liability claims, professional negligence, inquests and group actions. He is particularly experienced in cases involving amputations, brain injuries, spinal injuries and fatal accidents. 

Over nearly two decades of practice, Tom has established a strong reputation for pursuing complex and challenging claims, including cases involving cross-jurisdictional issues and disputes across multiple legal systems. He regularly acts in matters involving international elements and complex questions of jurisdiction and applicable law. 

Tom also has significant advocacy and litigation experience, having appeared in trials, procedural hearings, inquests and detailed assessments. Alongside his litigation work, he has extensive experience leading teams of lawyers and managing large, complex cases. 

His notable cases have included: 

  • Representing Sarah de Lagarde in litigation against London Underground following the accident which resulted in double amputation. 
  • Acting for the family of Natasha Ednan-Laperouse, whose death led to the introduction of “Natasha’s Law” on food allergen labelling. 
  • Representing the family of Owen Carey, who died following an allergic reaction after eating at a restaurant. 
  • Acting in the Strand crash case involving serious poly-trauma injuries following a high-profile road traffic accident. 
  • Representing families in fatal incidents including transport accidents, workplace incidents and product-related deaths.
