New Partner Promotions at Anthony Gold
Anthony Gold is delighted to announce that two of its Senior Associates have accepted offers to become Partners at the firm with immediate effect.
Nazia Rashid is a Family lawyer and mediator with over 20 years’ experience, specialising in all aspects of family law. Her caseload consists of litigation and non-contentious work with a growing mediation practice. She regularly represents high-net-worth clients in divorce and financial matters, often with an international element and cases involving non-disclosure of assets.
Nazia is routinely instructed in complex children matters, including child abduction and cases involving serious drug and alcohol addiction, parental alienation and significant allegations of harm. In 2018, she won the Lexis Nexis Family Law Awards ‘Associate Solicitor of the Year’ and this year she is part of the team shortlisted at the awards in the ‘Dispute Resolution Team of the Year’ category.
A regular presenter at seminars and lectures on matters relating to diversity and inclusion in the practice of family law, Nazia is Co-Chair of Anthony Gold’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee. She also sits on Resolution’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee and is a former Vice-President of The Association of Muslim Lawyers.
Donovan Lindsay is a Court of Protection lawyer, managing the healthcare and financial affairs of vulnerable individuals no longer able to due to a lack of capacity. He predominately assists elderly clients who suffer from conditions such as dementia and is a specialist in non-contentious Court of Protection matters, working closely with families and case managers on issues such as deputyships and lasting powers of attorney. He acts for a variety of clients individually, or as trustee, attorney or deputy, offering a highly personalised and responsive service.
Donovan is a member of Solicitors for the Elderly – an independent, national organisation of lawyers who provide specialist legal advice for older and vulnerable people, their families and carers. He is also Vice President of the South London Law Society and an active member of the European Bars Federation (Federaion des Barreaux d’Europe) – Human Rights Commission, where he has delivered talks on the legal landscape post-Brexit.
Donovan has been in the Court of Protection team at the firm since 2010 and is based out of the firm’s Streatham office. Nazia joined the firm in 2017 and is based at London Bridge.
The move sees Anthony Gold building on its current strengths in Family and Court of Protection, where the firm already has strong rankings in both Chambers and Legal 500.
Managing Partner, David Marshall, said: “I am delighted that Nazia and Donovan have accepted offers to become Partners at the firm. This is part of a concerted effort to continue to build our presence in the Family law and Court of Protection spheres. It follows recent Partner promotions in our Personal Injury and Court of Protection teams, and the addition of an Employment law team at the firm a year ago, ensuring the firm has a wide variety of multi-disciplinary, talented practitioners in place for its future growth.”
