Anthony Gold resolving issues pod – April 2026

Event Details

This event is part of our pod series for mediators.

Active listening and the power of silence.

Join us for a group conversation about how practitioners can improve their listening skills.

This session, led by Sally Parsloe and Kim Beatson, will explore the different ways in which we listen to ourselves and to others, and what gets in the way of effective listening. In so doing, participants will have the opportunity to learn how better to understand and communicate with their clients and other professionals, and to understand more of their own responses.

What the session will cover:

  • The 3 Rs (which 3 R’s do we mean?)
  • Ideas of different kinds of listening. Which kind do we use where?
  • Why people talk so much, and whether we even notice the impact of what we say and the way we say it.
  • The benefits of attentive listening to the relationship with the client.

Some of you will remember Sally from her days as a family lawyer and mediator with Hodge Jones and Allen.
