Limbless Association Climb of O2 Dome
Limbless Association Climb of O2 Dome September 2023
Sponsored by Anthony Gold Solicitors LLP
Anthony Gold Solicitors have supported the work undertaken by Limbless Association for many years, and we are honoured to continue to demonstrate our support.
Climbing the Dome which, at its highest point is 52 metres is no mean feat. Being able to do this climb as an able-bodied person is a challenge, but to be able to climb as a person who has lost limbs takes enormous strength and courage. To show our support to those climbing 6 staff members at Anthony Gold will join the limbless climbers, the volunteers and the all-important guides on 21st September.
We at Anthony Gold are participating in this climb to bring awareness to the challenges faced by limbless members of the community, as well as to raise funds for this amazing charity.
The Dome started its life in 1999 as the “Millennium Dome” and in 2005 was renamed “The O2”, after the telecoms company bought the site and converted it into an events venue, although its official name is “North Greenwich Arena”. The roof climb was officially opened in 2012 and is a 190-metre walk along a blue suspended tensile fabric walkway. The top of the climb allows 360-degree views of the surrounding areas, including The Thames Barrier, Royal Greenwich, and Canary Wharf.
When asked by Limbless Association to join the 2023 climb, we felt it was too good an opportunity to miss. We passionately believe in the work the charity does to support those who have lost limbs. As a firm who represents many clients with injuries involving limb loss, our experienced lawyers are accustomed to serving the amputee community, and ensuring they are taken care of, not just from the perspective of negotiating their legal claims, but also in ensuring that their long-term ongoing care needs are addressed and met.
Anthony Gold Solicitors is proud to be celebrating its 60th year in 2023, and we are delighted to be recognised as a top tier firm in both The Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners directories.
