Grenfell Tower Inquiry – the continuing chronicles of Shah Ahmed
On Thursday 22 April, leading counsel for the Grenfell Tower Inquiry read out some key extracts from the witness statements of our client, Shahid [Shah] Ahmed.
The Inquiry heard eloquent and powerful testimony speaking to Shah Ahmed’s experience of living in Grenfell Tower for over 25 years and his struggles with the Tenant Management Organisation (TMO) and Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea (RBKC).
In addition, Shah’s concerns about fire safety in the Tower over many years were set out in detail.
The evidence followed on from the opening speech given by Michael Mansfield QC on 29 March where Mr Mansfield QC highlighted the experience of Shah Ahmed and, as he called it, the Chronicles of Shah Ahmed.

Shah Ahmed’s witness statements can be found on the Inquiry website here.
Over the coming weeks and months more and more of Shah’s evidence will be highlighted as witnesses for the TMO and RBKC give their evidence.
