Anthony Gold are supporting the Streatham Festival
We are delighted to continue to support such an important aspect of the Streatham community. We have sponsored the event for many years and want to help fund such a worthwhile cause for the local community.
The festival events will run from 2-9th July, spanning a wide range of venues in the area. Showcasing many of these venues will be the Streatham Strut on Saturday 9th July when a vast array of musical talent will perform live music in bars and restaurants along Streatham’s famous high street. The Art 23 Trail will also take place again this year, feature stunning local art in shop windows throughout Streatham from 7th-17th July. For those who wish to try their hand at some art of their own, Streatham Sketch will be holding a burlesque-themed life drawing class on Monday 4th July (over 18s only).
Fittingly in the year of Shakespeare’s 400th birthday, the 2016 festival also has a strong literary theme. As well as an open-air performance of ‘Hamlet’ by the Festival Players Theatre Company, there will be a rare opportunity to join the Streatham Theatre Company for tours of the historic Streatham Hill Theatre, with snippets of the Bard’s plays performed at the venue. Another literary event to look out for is the ‘writing literary mysteries’ workshop, presented by successful local author Christopher Bowden.
The highlight of the week for families is sure to be the Family Fun Day at the British Home on Saturday 9th. To compliment the festival theme of ‘celebrating Streatham’, this event will feature food and fun from around the Streatham community, including a number of performances from local schoolchildren. Excitingly, the Family Fun Day will also play host to two performances of Harry; the play about Harry Styles of One Direction, which was a sell-out success at the N16 Theatre at the Bedford earlier this year, and will be transferring to the King’s Head in Islington after the Streatham Festival.
From Hill to Vale, the Streatham Festival 2016 will be a celebration you won’t want to miss. If you would like further information, please visit www.streathamfestival.com
