Event Description

The Renters (Reform) Bill was set to disrupt the student accommodation  sector, but the general election and failure of the Bill to pass has created even more uncertainty.

The student accommodation sector had raised some of the strongest objections to the abolition of fixed term tenancies, and purpose built student accommodation (PBSA) providers have been some of the loudest voices calling on the Government to think again.

A deal struck between the government and Conservative backbenchers appeared to provide a way for the Bill to become law, but this has now been superseded by a general election.

In this webinar we will address how the student accommodation sector will be affected by the changes to landlord and tenant law we anticipate under the next Government. We will also discuss important legal developments in HMO law affecting PBSAs, and specific issues related to the Tenant Fees Act 2019 which apply to student accommodation.

This event is primarily aimed at those working in the purpose-built student accommodation sector, but the content should be relevant to anyone with an interest in private sector student accommodation, any anyone is welcome to attend.
