£1 million funding for vouchers towards family mediation

The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) has announced that divorcing couples will get £500 vouchers towards the cost of family mediation. The government is setting aside £1 million for up to 2,000 couples to pay for mediation. The Family Mediation Council will administer the scheme.
We are pleased to announce that our professional and experienced mediators will be able to apply for the scheme on behalf of their clients. Either party of a divorcing couple can apply for the voucher, but our experienced Family Law team can take the hassle out of the process, so clients don’t have to do a thing.
When a couple attends an assessment meeting with one of our experienced mediators, they will be advised as to whether they are suitable for family mediation and eligible for the scheme. If the family is eligible for the voucher, then the mediator will be able to apply for it on behalf of the clients.
It is important to note that the number of vouchers is limited; once the funding has been exhausted, the scheme will close. So, make sure you contact us early and we will do the rest.
It is expected that the number of divorcing couples will increase due to family tensions during lockdown. The government believes that this scheme will make the separation process simpler, less traumatic for families and will ease the pressure on courts.
Mediation is a process in which a trained mediator helps divorcing couples to work out arrangements for children and finances following separation. It is often a quicker and cheaper way to resolve disputes.
