Rent Repayment Order Masterclass

The housing law team at Anthony Gold are holding a free webinar to discuss recent developments in rent repayment orders.

This session will be intermediate level and we will cover the latest changes in this area including:

  • The recent Upper Tribunal decision on the amount of rent which can be claimed back by tenants (Vadamalyam v Stewart);
  • Applications involving superior landlords, and tactics for these cases;
  • Tips on procedure and proving your case in the Tribunal; and
  • The interaction of rent repayment orders and professional negligence claims against agent.

There will also be an opportunity to ask questions.

Rent repayment orders are made by the First-tier Tribunal Property Chamber against residential landlords. The Tribunal can order a landlord who has breached a legal requirement to repay up to a full year’s rent. This is an important and fast developing area of law, and this webinar will be of interest to residential landlords, property agents, and advisers to tenants.

The housing team at Anthony Gold has specialist expertise in the regulation of rented housing, and we act for tenants, private and institutional landlords, and property agents of all sizes. We are recognised in the Legal 500 and Chambers for our depth and expertise in housing law.
